About the Role
Working under the supervision of experienced valuers, you could be involved in:
Land & Property Services is part of the Department of Finance and provides a wide range of integrated land and property services to customers and stakeholders across both the public and private sectors.
Assistant Valuers work within the Valuation Services Division, which maintains the valuation lists used as the basis for domestic and non-domestic rating assessments and provides a comprehensive range of valuation and estate management services to Northern Ireland's public sector.
This is a varied property role combining site inspections, research, valuation work, data management and interaction with other property professionals and public bodies.

The Selection Process

Eligibility
Assistant Valuer is a mobile grade, and successful candidates must be willing to work within these locations and may be required to move between Valuation Services Division offices.
The role also involves travelling throughout Northern Ireland to undertake inspections and other duties, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a career that combines office-based professional work with time out visiting properties and locations across Northern Ireland.

Property Inspection & Measurement
Visiting properties to inspect, measure and record their characteristics for a range of valuation purposes.
Property Data
Maintaining accurate property records and databases, including electronic sketches, surveys, photographs and supporting documentation.
Valuation
Preparing valuations for domestic and straightforward non-domestic properties using appropriate comparisons and valuation models.
Working with Property Professionals
Liaising with councils, the Housing Executive, housing associations, solicitors, estate agents and other areas of LPS.
Property Research
Investigating sales, lettings, planning history, previous uses, environmental considerations and land ownership.
Supporting Valuation Cases
Preparing maps, photographs and other documents that may contribute to Expert Witness Statements and evidence used by valuers in Tribunals and Court proceedings.
